Norine E. Nelson, 68, of Geneseo, IL died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Trinity Bettendorf, IA.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at World Thrust Christian Center, Orion. There will be a visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial is at Bethesda Cemetery, Daggett, Michigan, in the springtime. Memorials may be made to World Thrust Christian Center, Orion.
Norine was born on May 28, 1943 in Marinette, Wisconsin to Elmer and Ellen (Linderoth) Tuinstra. She married Paul M. Nelson on May 12, 1963. Norine graduated from Augustana College in 1967 where she majored in music education. She worked as a social worker for Good Samaritan Society in Geneseo and later for Illini Restorative Care in Silvis. She also played as a pianist at Von Maur in Southpark Mall. Norine loved to play music; mainly piano but she also played the organ. She was also a piano teacher and loved sharing her talents with others through teaching. She was a member of the World Thrust Christian Center, in Orion, where she organized Sunday school. She used her inspirations from the Lord for the creative writing of plays, drama, and music. She loved Jesus with all of her heart. When Norine wasn't playing music she was busy loving and serving others and thinking of ways to bless her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved her family and having them all together.
