Olga C. "Brooks" Swanson, 84 of Lincoln Nebraska, formerly of Moline died Janauary 29, 2006 at her son and daughter-in-law's home, Kent and Pam Swanson.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2006 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Tabitha Foundation 4720 Randolph Street Lincoln, NE 68510.
Brooks was born February 10, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY to Charles and Margaret (Kustner) Fedden.
Brooks was a United States Marine Corp Womens Reserve veteran serving in WWII. She was head of the message center of Pearl Harbor.
Brooks was active in Moline American Legion Post #246 and was an honorary life member of the post. She was past commander of Moline American Legion Post #246, Rock Island County Council American Legion, and the 14th district of American Legion. She was a member of the firing squad for the American Legion Post #246 since 1954. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #246. She Was a member of the William L. Veile Post #2153 VFW and was involved in the firing squad since 1981.
She was a charter member of Clara Lodge #118 Independent Order of Vikings and was past chief of the lodge in 1952 and 1974. She was also a charter member of LaSociete de Femme Cabone #237 of Rock Island County.
