Ollie Mae Landen

Ollie Mae Landen, 91, of Moline, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 17, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, August 23rd at Bethany Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to her church, Bethany Baptist, or Christian Friendliness. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Ollie Mae was born on April 23, 1919 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of David and Tillie Johnson Landen.
Ollie Mae was a graduate of Moline High School, attended Bethel College, graduated from Augustana College, and earned her Master's Degree from Western Illinois University. She was employed as a secretary for Attorney Andrew Kupp and later at American Air Filter. Ollie Mae taught first grade at Logan School for 24 years, retiring in 1977. She was a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Missionary Guild and the church choir. Ollie Mae was part of the Landen Trio with her two sisters. She was a member of the Moline Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority -MU Chapter, and an auxiliary member of Christian Friendliness.
Ollie Mae was a kind and giving person who faithfully served Jesus Christ. She was a godly example who lovingly served others as a teacher, a devoted prayer warrior, and a supporter of missions. She was actively involved at Bethany up to the time of her death. Ollie Mae was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Survivors include her sister, Doris Anderson, of Rock Island and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gladys Landen and brother-in-law Arnold Anderson.
