Omer Worrell, 96, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at Heartland Health Care, Moline.
Memorial Services will be held for friends and family to attend at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
Burial of cremains will be with his wife at Union Cemetery in Patch Grove, WI at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or to the D.A.V.
Omer was born on July 4, 1915 in Monmouth, IL the son of Clint T. and Mary (Wiley) Worrell. He graduated from Moline High School. He married Florence Jeidy on April 15, 1937 in Galena, IL. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1994. Omer worked as a baker and cook while in high school and in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He then worked at the hemp camp making ropes during the war. Later he worked as a farmer, carpenter, and then went on to become owner/operator of Worrell & Hore Tavern in Wisconsin. Omer's most recent employment was as a parts distributor for Lofgren Distributing, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Bloomington Wisconsin Methodist Church and a former choir member. Omer was also a volunteer fireman for Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Arthur (Florence) Worrell; step daughter, Beverly Senatra; sister, Mary Elizabeth Lazear; step sister, Barbara Maloney; sons-in-law, Edward Kress and Robert Nice; and 2 step great grandsons, Ivan Schaubroeck and Jeremy Fisher.
