Opal Marie Anderson, 82, of Rock Island died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at her daughter's home.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. with a short service to follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday September 14, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Beardstown Cemetery in Beardstown, IL. Memorials may be made to Faith Evangelical Free Church, Moline.
Opal was born August 27, 1922 in Beardstown, IL to Charles L. and Emma S. Surratt Landrith. She married Alfred Henry "Andy" Anderson on March 19, 1938 in Virginia, IL. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1985.
Opal was an active member at Faith Evangelical Free Church, Moline where she was involved in the prayer chain and bible school. Church was a major foundation in her life. She enjoyed yardwork, gardening, reading and feeding and watching birds and squirrels. She also loved her cat Gizmo.
