Pansy L. Matucha

Pansy L. Matucha, 77, of Moline, passed away Sunday August 6, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus Silvis.

Private services will be held at Moline Memorial Park. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Pansy was born on January 15, 1946, in Clover Bend, Arkansas, the daughter of Thurman and Florence (Morgan) Smith. She married Thomas “Tom” W. Matucha on May 16, 1965, in Moline. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2022. Pansy was previously employed in the mother/baby unit at the former Moline Public Hospital. She later worked as a records clerk at Trinity in Rock Island. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church Moline. She enjoyed working on puzzles, reading and watching jeopardy. She had a green thumb and liked to take care of her plants.

Survivors include her children, Jeff (Kerri) Matucha, Melissa (Lonnie) McDanel; granddaughter, Madaleen McDanel; nieces, Dianna Levendosky, and Helen Levendosky; brother, Donie (Annie) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Gilbert Gene Smith and Georgia Eloise Levendosky.
