Paul C. Vogel, age 94, of Moline, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island or Handicapped Development Center, Davenport.
Paul was born January 19, 1914 in Herington, Kansas, the son of George H. and Ruth Mae (DeLong) Vogel. He married Genevieve Hanson. He later married Ruth Ann Defebaugh on June 26, 1965 in Davenport.
Paul was employed as a technical writer in the engineering department for the former International Harvester Company, retiring in 1974 after 29 years. He was a bible teacher and interim pastor at many local churches. Paul was a member of Indian Rock Baptist Church in Florida, where they formerly lived. He attended Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island Paul loved to read, attend bible studies and church activities. He will be loved and missed by many.
