Paul G. Wind, 87, of Coal Valley died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at home.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave. Moline, IL. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7:30 conducted by Valley Lodge#547 Coal Valley. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Military rites by American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post # 246, First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, or a charity of your choice.
Paul was born June 25, 1916 in Davenport, IA the son of Chris P. and Emma M. Hank Wind. He married Helen L. Behrens in 1935 in Chicago, IL. He later married Violet M. Harcarick in 1964 in Dallas, TX. She preceded him in death on January 31, 1995.
Paul was a World War II Army Veteran. He served as a T Sgt. in the Army in the Pacific. He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and also a member and past Master of Valley Lodge # 547, Coal Valley. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Moline, a member of the Travelers Protective Association, past Commander of American Legion Post #246 of which he was a life member and past Commander of the Honor Guard. He also served as Post Adjutant of American Legion Post #246 for years. He was a life member of the Willard L Velie, Jr. VFW Post 2153 of Moline.He was involved in the Quad Cities Plus 60 Club, the Croatian Crest Club, and also Moline High Twelve Club #88. He was also a member of Thor Lodge #9 Independent Orger of Vikings.
Paul was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley. He was ordinate as Elder of the Church in 1991, he sang in the choir for years, and also served as Treasurer of the church for 3 years.
Before WWII, Paul worked as a tool & die maker at Reynolds Engineering. After the war he went into TV and radio working with Sam's TV and Bacon Deering TV. He also served as co-owner of S&W Television Service.

Judith L. (Charles) Swope Moline
Step-daughter Darlene (Dan) Smith Carrolltown, TX
6 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
Also Janette L. Frost who has been a dear friend in Paul's later years.
