Peter Durry

Peter Durry, 70, of Moline, IL, died Friday, September 16, 2016, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.

A family directed memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 21st Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.

Peter was born on November 8, 1945, in Marie, Arkansas the son of Walter and Viola Smith Durry.  He married Margaret Fulscher-Takantjas on October 25, 1980 in Davenport, Iowa.

Peter was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served from 1963 – 1967, he then went on to earn his Master’s Degree in social work at the University of Illinois.  Peter was a licensed clinical social worker at the VA in Danville, Illinois.  He was a history buff and enjoyed working on improvement projects around the house, above all Peter loved his family and was enjoying his retirement.
