Philip T. Vaughn, 73, of Carbon Cliff, formerly of Orion, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, after a short battle with cancer, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.
A public visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Esterdahl Funeral Home Ltd., Orion. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
Philip was born on August 19, 1948, in Jasper, AL, the son of Bert and Mildred (Hulsey) Vaughn. He married Marilyn Dunlap, she preceded him in 1973. He later married Judy Balmer Shepherd on October 27, 1979, in Las Vegas.
Phil was a licensed plumber who owned and operated Vaughn Plumbing & Heating. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He enjoyed fishing, spending time on the Rock River, and working on and collecting cars.
Survivors include wife, children, Renee Vaughn, East Moline, Corey (Michelle) Shepherd, Orion, Abby (Dan) Shepherd Thompson, Battle Ground, WA; brothers, Mark (Sue) Vaughn, Cable, IL, Tim (Dee Ann) Vaughn, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Lucas, Sabrina, Marianna, Reed, Trent, Daniel Jr., Nelsen, and Blare; and great granddaughter, Ezryn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn; and son, Bobby.
