Philip Harold Williamson, age 86, of Edina, MN passed away December
2, 2008.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Please make donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
Philip was born in Albia, IA, one of nine children. He graduated from
Chariton High School and attended Chariton Junior College. He
enlisted in the Navy and was in the Submarine Service serving in the
Pacific during WW II. He married Dorothy Wolfram on April 1, 1943.
After his discharge Phil moved to Rock Island, IL and worked for the Rock
Island Railroad as a Diesel Mechanic. Phil and Dorothy moved to
Bettendorf, IA in 1955. He then worked for Alcoa as a Maintenance
Supervisor for 32 years until his retirement in 1980. He retired
to Theodosia, MO and Mountain Home AK to pursue his love of
fishing. Phil and Dorothy moved to Edina, MN in 2003. Phil was a
member of the Trio Lodge 57, Rock Island, IL; Mount Olivet Lutheran
Church, Minneapolis; and Submarine Vets of WW II.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; Sons Philip (Debbie) of Tucson, AZ; Stanley (Catharine E.) Edina, MN; Grandchildren, Sarah (Russell) Wildman, Minnetrista, MN; Catharine (David) Paster, New York, NY; Elizabeth Williamson,Yellowstone Park, WY; Jeffrey (Sharah) Williamson, Tucson, AZ: Great Grandchildren, Elle Paster, Stasha and Sabrina Williamson.
