Dr. O. Phillip Konecky, 93 of Moline died September 15, 2005 at his home.
Private family services were held Saturday, September 17, 2005. Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice or a charity of choice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisted the family.
Phillip was born November 14, 1911 in Chicago, IL to Maxum and Sophia Witte Konecky. He married Geneva Becker on July 23, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri.
Phillip graduated from Chicago School of Optometry as an Optometrist in 1932. In 1939 he bought Illinois Optical Company. He returned to his business in 1945 after serving in WWII in the Army Air Corp. He retired from Illinois Optical Company in 1985.
Phillip was a lifetime member of Oakwood Country Club. He was a former member of the Moline Elks Club. He was an avid golfer even golfing into his 90's and he had a love for classic automobiles. He and his wife spent many winters in Brownville, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ann Roman Siegel and brother Sherman Konecky
