Ray W. Rydberg, 87, of East Moline, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3801-7th St., East Moline. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chaddock Children's Home, Quincy, Il or Christ United Methodist Church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ray was born on April 20, 1923 in Moline to Ray and Neola Kay Rydberg. He married Jean L. Walther in 1944 in Moline. She preceded him in death in 1972. He then married Marilyn J. Kelley in 1976 in Rock Island.
Ray was an Air Force Veteran having served three years in the South Pacific. He was a process engineer for John Deere, retiring in 1982 after 23 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline. Ray enjoyed woodcarving, camping, travel and golf.
