Raymond O. Bjork, 73, of Osco, died April 24, 2007 at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Geneseo where he was an active member for many years. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion with military honors being conducted by Orion American Legion Post #255. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, International Lutheran Hour Ministries or Bethesda Lutheran Home.
Raymond was born May 8, 1933 in Moline to Emil and Evelyn Lindstrom Bjork. He married Elizabeth Schroeder on November 12, 1955 in Coal Valley.
Raymond farmed in the Osco area and was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War. He enjoyed helping others and is remembered for driving veterans to the Veteran's Hospital in Iowa City. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting and school events.
Raymond was a loving, kind, and thoughtful husband of 51 years, father, grandfather and friend. He was well known for wanting to help and serve others.
