Raymond A. Davis

Raymond A. Davis, 80, of East Moline, passed away, April 8, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday April 15, 2025, at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Monday April 14, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. The burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, where Ray was a member.

Raymond was born on February 9, 1945, in Rock Island, the son of Raymond C. and Norma J. (Vought) Davis. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Air Force. He married Mary Jo Harbottle on December 13, 1969, at the First Lutheran Church. Ray had been employed as a computer programmer at Bituminous Insurance Company and later as the Director of Central Services for Rock Island County, retiring in 2001. Ray was a member of the East Moline Park and Pool Board. He served as treasurer of South Moline Township Democrats and was a former democratic precinct committeeman. He was on the Illini Hospital District Board for over 20 years. During that time he served as Chairman and Vice Chairman.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo; daughter, Meredith (Richard) Puder, San Diego, CA; grandson, Jonathan Puder, San Diego, CA; brothers, Dale (Linda) Muller, Rock Island, Gary Muller, East Moline; adopted brother, Edward (Sue) Davis, Panama; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
