Raymond Thomas Hugill, Sr. 88, of Silvis, IL, died Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Lighthouse at Silvis, Silvis, IL.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at St. Mary’s Mausoleum Chapel in St. Mary’s Cemetery. East Moline, where Entombment will take place. Ray was born on March 27, 1928, in Phillipsburg, PA the son of Robert and Emma Vaux Hugill. He married Nellie E. Kuriger on November 5, 1949 in Denver, CO. She preceded him in death in July, 1996 in Silvis.
Ray was employed at the Eagle Warehouse for 36 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, neighbors and friends. Ray spent many hours working in his yard and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events. He was an Air Force veteran, avid Chicago Cub and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Ray battled ALS for many years.
