Becky was born on May 23rd, 1953 to John & Harriette Gillespie of Hampton, IL. While her time on this earth was far too short, Becky lived a full and happy life. Having graduated from Alleman High School, she obtained her Bachelor of Business degree at Western Illinois University, while working full time. She married Thomas M. Gould at St. John the Baptist in October 16, 1976. Their two daughters are Melissa and Amelia.
Becky began her career with Deere & Company in 1974 as a clerk typist in the Personnel department. She transferred to the Finance division and worked for 20 years as the supervisor of Stockholder Relations. She then administered the stock option program until her retirement in 2006.
Becky's artistic talent was apparent in every area of her life - her creative abilities bringing light and form with an incredible imagination. Outside of work, Becky's interests included painting and sculpting. She took particular pride and pleasure in having been greatly involved in the creation of drawings and models used for the chainsaw carving of the Heritage Tree in Hampton, IL. In recent years, her focus shifted more exclusively to painting. Becky also enjoyed her flowerbeds; she was an avid bicyclist and took delight in motorcycle rides with her husband Tom. She had a fun-loving personality that shined through in her witty sense of humor and infectious smile.
Above all else, she adored her husband and daughters and treasured the times they spent vacationing together over the years in various parts of the country, especially Daytona Beach, FL. She was blessed with an exceptionally loving and supportive family. Many dear friends and relatives rallied to give her strength and encouragement during her last years, and to those people, she was forever grateful and wished them many blessings in return.
Beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband and daughters, her mother Harriette Gillespie, of Hampton IL, three brothers and their wives, James (Charlotte) Gillespie, Centennial CO., Patrick (Anita) Gillespie, Hampton IL., and Dennis (Lisa) Gillespie, Ottumwa IA. Her father preceded her in death.
She always tried to make everyone's day a little brighter and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in God's peace.
