Rev. Robert L Pearson

Rev. Robert L. Pearson, 81, of East Moline, died Saturday, December 9, 2017, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 with a visitation an hour prior at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2900 Avenue of the Cities, Moline. An evening visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave, Moline.  Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association.

Bob was born on September 17, 1936 in White Plains, New York, the son of Anton N. Pearson and Martha Erika Erickson. He married Francine Pearson on June 24, 1961 in Moline, IL at the Calvary Lutheran Church. Bob was ordained into the Lutheran ministry in June 1962. He was a military chaplain for 28 years, having served in Germany, Vietnam, and Thailand, as well as several state side posts. Bob most recently served at the Rock Island Arsenal, where he retired. He was a member at Calvary Lutheran Church and the East Moline Post American Legion #227, Military Officers Association of America, Churches United and collected HO model trains.

Survivors include his sons, Dean (Lisa) Pearson, Irvine, CA, Neal A. Pearson, Moline; granddaughters, Allison and Amy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, Herbert, and Arnold, and two sister in laws.
