Rex "Redneck" Tankersley, age72, of Moline, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Rex was born June 28, 1936 in Wilson, AR. He married Cicely Groth on November 12, 1960 in Hernando, MS.
Rex was employed as a truck driver for Signal Delivery Service for 24 years, retiring in 1998. He also was a driver for Air Liquide for 10 years. Rex was an Army veteran serving in the Philippines and the Middle East, and then joining the Marine Reserves.
