Rhoda Runyon

Rhoda Ann Runyon, 85, of Moline, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the Coal Valley Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Rhoda was born on June 16, 1934 in Coal Valley, Illinois the daughter of Earl and Sadie Nelson Kepple.  She married Benjamin Franklin Runyon on May 19, 1962 at the Memorial Church in Rock Island; he preceded her in death on November 20, 2010.

Rhoda was employed with DeSaulniers Printing as a proof reader; she later went on to working as a crossing guard and lunch lady for Logan Elementary School.  After retiring from the school district she cared for the neighborhood children.

Rhoda was currently attending Northside Baptist Church in Davenport.  She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, collecting angels and eating out.  Above all was her love for family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: Daughters, Tamara (Mike) Hupton, Rock Island, Tracy (Larry) Cockayne, Davenport, Taralee Schmeink, Davenport; Grandchildren, Alaina (Darrell) Moore, Robert (Leticia) Graham III, Karalee (Andy) Wood, Michael (Taylor) Schmeink Jr., Daniel (Lele) Graham and Megan (Jordan) Schmeink; Great grandchildren, Deyon Moore, Daylin Moore, Ariah Moore, Robert Graham IV, Gracelyn Graham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and 3 brothers.
