Richard "Butch" G. Lanzen, 82, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee formerly of Moline, passed into everlasting life with Jesus surrounded by his family on August 7, 2011 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee.
A Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
Richard was born on December 22, 1928 in Moline the son of George N. and Elsa A. Nilsson Lanzen. He graduated from Moline High School in 1947. He married Norma Braggs on April 10, 1949 in Moline.
Butch was an electrician with Paulsen Electric for 30 years and with John Deere & Co. for 17 years retiring in 1994. For 34 years he enjoyed his semi-annual fishing trips to Missouri and Minnesota with his sons and grandsons. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard had a strong faith and love of Christ.
