Richard "Dick" Fiebig

Richard “Dick” Fiebig, 77, of Silvis, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 11, 2018, at home surrounded by his family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the family for his granddaughter, Alyssa’s Education Fund.

Dick was born on December 31, 1940, in Moline, the son of Edward and Henrietta (Richards) Fiebig.  He married Janie Eberhardt in December of 1965 in Rock Falls, IL. Dick worked for International Harvester, East Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 1981.  He enjoyed golf, photography, and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Janie; daughters, Rhonda Moore, Moline, and Kris Fiebig Sierra, Silvis; son, Rick Fiebig, Rock Island; granddaughter, Alyssa Sierra, Silvis, who was the light of his life; and an honorary daughter, Amy Verstraete, Moline.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother; stepfather, Loyd Lybargar; sister, Betty Allen; and his grandmother, Eva Petterson, who raised him.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Genesis Hospice.
