Ricky L. Kurtenbach, 64, of Milan, IL, died, Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial of cremains will be at Western Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ricky was born on June 24, 1952, in Moline, IL, the son of Mathias “James” and Leola E. Erdman Kurtenbach. He most recently worked at Bud's Skyline and previous to that was a cook at Denny's in Moline.
Ricky was a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and shooting darts. He loved his dog, Spirit, and was a huge Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.
Survivors include his brother, Larry (Linda) Kurtenbach, Sherrard, IL; sons, Jason (Kate) Kurtenbach, Milan, IL, and Michael (Heather) Kurtenbach, East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Kylee, Ethan, and Madison; special friend, Kim.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael.
