Ricky James Thiem, 48, of East Moline, passed away Sunday October 14th at home surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Greenview Memorials Gardens, at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for their son Davin.
Ricky was born March 2, 1959 in Moline to Robert Thiem and Nancy Hull. He graduated in 1977 from United Township High School. He was a machinist employed at East Moline Metals. He was also owner/operator of The Best Approach Pro Shop at Town and Country Bowl, Rock Island. He married Bre Drobushevich on February 28, 2005 in Las Vegas.
He loved all sports especially the St.Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears. He loved watching NASCAR races. He also loved playing Texas Hold'em on Saturday nights with his friends. He was a member of the American Bowling Congress and was inducted into the East Moline/Moline Hall of Fame in 2006. Bowling as many as 60-70 300 games and 15-20 800 series.

He was preceded in death by one sister, his grandparents Irene and Glenn Hanneman and his grandma Bea Thiem.
