Rita L. Beachler, 88, of Coal Valley, passed away with family by her side, on January 3, 2025, at Allure of Geneseo.

A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Private family funeral services will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Foundation.

Rita was born on June 10, 1936, in Aledo, IL, the daughter of William and Frances Seiter (Drake). She married Gerald “Gerry” Miles Beachler on August 4, 1956, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Rita loved spending time outdoors, she enjoyed gardening and going to yard sales. Rita also loved to cook for her family and spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Lori) Beachler and Rusty Beachler; daughter-in-law, Sally Horton; grandchildren, Erica (Dan) Weber, Amanda Lawson, Hannah (Matt) Cordell, Jaim Lawson, Seth (Concepcion Medina) Beachler, Shawn Beacher, Zachary (Max Mullinax) Beachler, Nate (Jennah Emmert) Beachler, Michael Horton, Alexx (Lindsey) Horton, and Logan Horton; 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Rick Beachler, parents, and daughter-in-law, Angie Beachler.
