Robby L. Root

Robby L. Root, 50, of Colona, IL, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019, at the Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2019 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave, Moline.  Visitation will be from 1-4, Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to American Heart Association and American Cancer Association.

Robby was born on April 29, 1968 in Silvis, IL, the son of Roy L. and Libby A. (Hatcher) Root. He married Marian L. VanWinkle in Bullhead City, Nevada April 15, 1991. Robby was a truck driver with Roadway and then ABF for 30 years and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He also had his “pilot” certification, loved to skydive, fly airplanes, and scuba dive in his free time. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing in Canada, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Root, Colona; son, Tyler (Britt) Root, Colona; grandchildren, Cayel and Hunter; brothers, Rick (Heidi) Root, Colona, and Randy (Tammy) Root, Colona; brothers-in-law, John VanWinkle, Tempe, AZ, David VanWinkle, Geneseo; sister-in-law, Donna (Kevin) Rahn, Geneseo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Marion.
