Robert S Bostic

Robert S. Bostic, 66, of Sherrard, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at home.

Private family services will held at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion.  Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery in Orion.  Memorials may be made to Robert’s family for a fund to be established in his name.

Robert was born on September 13, 1951, in Bloomington, IL, the son of James and Margie Alwes Bostic.  He married Lonna M. Weckel on June 28, 1975, in Orion.  He was previously employed with Bullock Garages in Bloomington and later transferred to the Milan, IL facility.  He was then employed with Taylor Garages in Milan prior to becoming a self-employed carpenter.  Robert was a member of Heritage Church in Rock Island.  Anyone that knew him would say he loved all things sports and had a way of making people laugh.  And any animal that crossed his path knew they had instantly found a friend.  Any project that needed fixed had met its match.

Survivors include his wife, Lonna; daughters, Amy (Matt) Frans, Trivoli, IL, and Sara (Nathan) Francois, Bloomington, IL; 5 grandchildren, Bradley, Corbin, and Ellie Frans, and Logan and Taylor Francois; siblings, Steve (Diane) Bostic, Normal, IL, Karen (Rick) Kaufman, Danvers, IL, and Mike (Mari-Lyn) Bostic, Hudson, IL; mother and step-father, Margie and Kenneth Todd, Danvers, IL; step-sisters, Diane (Gary) Evans, Vienna, MO, Judy (Bob) McNeely, Colfax, IL, and Cheryl (Alan) Miller, Springfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, James and step-father, Frank Gerdes.
