Robert Louis Fauser

Robert Louis Fauser, 77 of Moline, has been called home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10a.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church, Moline with Rev. Dr. Mark Gehrke officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave., Moline Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Bethany for Children & Families or American Diabetes Association. .
Robert was born on October 13, 1929 in Peoria, Illinois the son of Oscar and Maude Barlow Fauser. He married Beverly Anderson on June 2, 1951 at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline.
Robert was employed as a carpenter at Black Hawk College for 23 years, retiring in 1993.Prior to his working at the college he was employed at Ametek as an expediter. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Robert was wounded during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart. He also received a certificate/medal from the South Korean President for his work with the South Korean government. He was a member of the American Legion Post #246 in Moline, the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans) and the Korean War Veterans Association, Inc.
He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church where he formerly sang in the choir and coached the church softball team. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, the outdoors and his dog Henry. In his earlier years he was very athletic playing on his high school football team. He will always be remembered for his artistic ability, his creativeness and his sense of humor. He deeply loved his family.
