Robert "Bob" Kast

Robert C. “Bob” Kast, 75, of Silvis, died Monday, July 23, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.  Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Bob was born on June 29, 1943, in Livermore, California.  He married Twilight Eckert on May 24, 1976 in Rock Island.  Bob retired as a Sergeant Major with the U.S. Army on January 31, 1982 after 22 years.  He went on to work 20 years as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring on December 24, 2006.

Bob enjoyed fishing and woodworking.  He also liked to watch football, NASCAR, and attend antique car shows.

Survivors include his wife, Twilight; son, Robert B. (Kim) Kast, Faribault, MN; grandchildren, Robert Alex Kast, Amber Lynn Kast, and Lindsay Samantha Kast.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Kast and a sister.
