Robert E. "Bob-The General" Lee, age 71, of Moline, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Bob was born December 7, 1936 in Rock Island, the son of Frank and Marie (Branner) Lee. He married Carline Winegardner on March 20, 1993 in Moline.
Bob was employed as a truck driver for Eagle's last working in 1991. He previously worked as a licensed barber. Bob was an Air Force veteran, where he was an Airman 3C. He was a member of the local teamsters union. Bob was a huge baseball fan, who loved the Chicago Cubs. He made beautiful ceramics, and enjoyed spending time with his boys.
