Robert E. Nelson

Robert E. Nelson, 90, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Elim Covenant Church, 5201 18th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal where military honors will be provided by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Elim Covenant Church.

Robert was born on April 9, 1922, in Moline, IL, the son of Charles and Alma (Odell) Nelson. He married Marjorie Enderton on August 8, 1947 at Elim Covenant Church. Robert served in the United States Army and worked as a pattern maker for General Pattern in Moline. He was a member of Youth for Christ and an active member at Elim Covenant Church. He enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and most especially watching his grandchildren play sports. Above all, Robert loved his family very much.
