Robert Nichols Sr.

Robert Nichols, Sr., 88, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday January 31, 2024, at Hope Creek Care Center.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private inurnment for Robert and his wife, Marilyn, will take place at Rock Island Memorial Park at a later date. Esterdahl Morty & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Robert was born on August 28, 1935, in Moline, the son of Kenneth and Violet (Hill) Nichols. He married Marily Gordon on June 28, 1956. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2023. Bob was previously employed as a welder for International Harvester.

Survivors include his children, Tammy Powell and Robert Nichols, Jr.; granddaughter, Katrina (David) Voelkers; great grandsons, Brandon, Thomas, Bradley; sisters, Valerie (Mike) Schusts, Edith (Gary) Cunningham.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
