Robert D. Peterson, age 89, of Moline, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Private family services will be held. Burial is at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veteran's. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Bob was born January 18, 1922 in Sherrard, the son of Friedolph and Palma Johnson Peterson. He married Elaine J. Anderson on June 28, 1958 in East Moline. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2005.
Bob was employed as a maintenance machinist at John Deere Harvester for 42 years He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Bob loved being outside, gardening and being in his workshop. He also enjoyed listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his wife and brothers, Max and Truman.
