Robert L. Rose, age 76, of Moline, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the service. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Bob was born May 8, 1934 in Hampton, IL, the son of Lester and Grace (Shephard) Rose. He married Dorothy Dersham on July 9, 1955 in Geneseo, IL.
Bob was employed as a safety coordinator for Tri City Heat Treat Co., retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Marine Corp. Reserves, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Elks, Moose, and the Friend Circle Club. Bob loved to travel, and visited all 50 states, including Alaska where he celebrated his 50th anniversary. He climbed to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Bob's hobbies included woodworking, making flag boxes, boating, square dancing, cooking, tinkering and making things, and NASCAR.
