Robert L. "Baldy" Stinson

Robert L. "Baldy" Stinson, 86, of Andover, IL died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home.
Sharing of Memories Service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. with military honors immediately following the service at the funeral home provided by Andover American Legion Post #465. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to QC Paws or to the family.
Robert was born on December 6, 1925 in Kewanee, IL, .the son of Cecil and Nellie Wilson Stinson. He married Patricia A. Goddard in Orion on April 11, 1981.
Baldy was first employed at Chicago Parental School where he taught math, science and biology. He then was employed in the Human Resources Personnel Department at State University North Eastern in Chicago. Baldy then raised livestock. He was an Army veteran of WW II stationed in Alaska as a surgical technician. Baldy was a member of the Andover American Legion Post #465 where he served as a former secretary and treasurer. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW in Orion, and a member of the American Dairy Goats Association. Baldy raised and showed dairy goats all over Illinois and Iowa. He also judged 4H shows. Baldy was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed watching westerns, playing with his dogs, and spending time with his grandkids.
