Robert A. Tufts, 84, of Rock Island, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his home.
Private services will be held at Rock Island Arsenal at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1953 he married Greta Buol with whom he had four children. They later divorced.
Robert worked 20 years for the Rock Island Line Railroad, then 10 years at Oscar Mayer, before opening Rock Island Pump Company. He enjoyed going to auctions, watching the eagles at Sunset Marina, spending time with his dog, and meeting friends for coffee.
Survivors include his children, Robert Tufts, John Tufts, Suzanne Zeitler, Sandy Stormer, and his beloved dog, Buck.
