Robert George "Bob" Umbdenstock, age 81, of Moline, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246.
Bob was born April 6, 1927 in Tipton, IA., the son of Charlie and Edna (Adams) Umbdenstock. He married Ruth M. Amos on June 18, 1966 in Rockford. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2005.
Bob worked at Towana Farms for 23 years, and later worked as head of housekeeping at Illini Hospital for 16 years. He was a navy veteran. Bob was a member of Moline American Legion Post #246 for 26 years, where he was on the honor guard for 11 years.
