Robert "Bob"Lee Viaene, 71, of Moline, died December 28, 2008 at his home.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 5:30 -8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
Bob was born November 13, 1937 in Moline to Jerome and Celeste (Geuns) Viaene. He married Lois Wellander on August 19, 1961 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline.
Bob was a 1955 Alleman graduate. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving for 4 years on the USS Plymouth Rock. He was an electrician for 38 years working for Miller Electric and for Tri City Electric and also a member of IBEW #145. He retired in December of 1999.
Bob was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a lifetime fan of Chicago Cubs, Bears and the Fighting Illini. He was also a member of the USS Plymouth Rock Association. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching his children and grandchildren at their many activities.
He is survived by

Grandsons Ryne, Jacob and Mitchell
Sisters-in-law Barbara (Joe) Palma
Pat Allers
Shirley Clifford
Maxine Viaene

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Lauren, his brother Richard and his sister and brother-in-law Jerri and Hank Hendrickson.
