Robert “Bob” L. Bloomberg, 85, of Colona, passed away, Saturday, April 03, 2021, at his home on the farm.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Colona United Methodist Church and Green River United Methodist Church. In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.
Bob was born on June 15, 1935, in Mediapolis, IA, the son of Gust and Blanche (Baker) Bloomberg. He married Sharon (Baker) Bacon on August 12, 1989, in Colona at their home. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob was a farmer at heart, loving it since the age of 5. He was a hard worker and built all the buildings and fences on the farm. He liked John Deere and Farmall tractors and working in the timber. He was a part of the Christian Motorcycle Association, where he rode his Harley Davidson. Bob was an active member at Colona United Methodist Church where he was a part of mission’s trips to Mexico and work camps with the youth. Bob was truly respected for who he was and his integrity.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; children, Tamara Dianne (Jeff) Shelton, Roscoe, IL, Dennis (Linda) Bloomberg, Colona, Janni (Todd) Robertson, Colona; stepchildren, Kris (Mark) Martinez, East Moline, and Kim (Rey) Reyes, Colona; grandchildren, David (Jenifer) Shelton, & Joshua Shelton; step-grandchildren, Tanner (Kim), Conner (Chelsea), Abbie, Brandon, Quinton (Nataly) and Devon; great grandchildren, Tyler & Evelyn; step-great grandchildren, Riley, Caleb, Jaxson, Amira, Tinley, and Emme; sister, BonnieWheeler, Abingdon, IL, step-brothers, Don (Dian) Greeno, DeWitt, IA, Rich (Sally) Greeno, Nashville, IN, Dale Whittenborn, Kansas City, KA; and 3 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepdad, Bernard Greeno.
