Rodney Paul Galyean, of East Moline, passed away on June 23, 2023, at the Hope Creek Nursing Home.
Rodney was born in Galesburg, Illinois, the fourth child of Froman and Pauline (Monson) Galyean. He married Karen L. Vance in 1966 and had one child, Noelle Jené, before divorcing. He graduated from Western Illinois University in 1968 with a B.S. in Chemistry and he worked in both chemistry and marketing. He believed in the power of positive thinking and in the idea of perpetual energy, leading him to develop CLIFSTADT, a still unfinished work to create mechanical energy without the need for fossil fuels.
He is survived by his daughter, his granddaughters Carissa and Claire Chandler, his older sister Patricia Zimmer, a niece Julie Elder, a nephew Barry Enloe, and several grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers James and Roland.
He will be cremated in accordance with his wishes and remains will rest at the Gerlaw Cemetery in Gerlaw, Illinois.
