After graduation from South Milwaukee High School, Roger attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (UWM) but was caught up in the 1969 draft. Prior to being drafted into the Army, he enlisted into the Navy and pursued a career in nuclear power.
Roger completed naval training in electronics, radar, and nuclear power and was assigned to the submarine fleet aboard the USS Nathaniel Greene SSB(N) 636. He received a Senior Reactor Operator's License from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission and was instrumental in the development, construction, and operation of the stations full scope Control Room Simulator. Roger retired from Exelon in 2006.
With his business relationships waning, Denise and Roger joined Oakwood Country Club which he referred to as one of the best decisions he ever made. While not a scratch golfer, Roger loved the game, country club life and the friends he found at the club. He also started working part time for a good friend at Moline Welding Inc. Roger enjoyed people and good times. He always had a smile and was full of the devil. Roger wished to say thank you to all he knew and that he appreciated knowing them. May God Bless you all!
