Roger W. Land, 75, of Moline, passed away, Friday, March 4, 2022, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport. He was born on May 16, 1946, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Richard and Mary Lou (Jenkins) Land.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, March 12, at Christ United Methodist Church Silvis Campus. Burial will be held following the funeral service at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to the family.
Roger was married to Sherry Ruby on September 24, 1966; they later divorced. He then married Julie (Gardner) Tate on December 1, 1971, in Silvis, to which he adopted her two sons (John and Dan) and together they had their daughter, Missy. They later divorced. Roger then married Mary (Noce) Vroman on March 24, 2007, in East Moline, IL.
Roger was a US Army Veteran, serving in Germany during the Vietnam era.
Roger worked in the home construction business with his father before starting his own company, RW Land Construction, in the early 1970’s. Roger and his dad built over 280 homes in the area. He then worked in the home remodeling arena. He was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in East Moline, IL. Roger and Mary were dedicated members of Christ United Methodist Church, Silvis Campus.
Roger enjoyed the outdoors, taking many trips to Colorado and going on many cruises.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, Moline; son, John (Jill) Land, Las Vegas, son, Dan (Dawn) Land, Moline, daughter, Missy (Paul) Garcia, Hampton, step-daughter, Anne Vroman, Las Vegas; sister Kathy (Don) Harker, East Moline; brother-in-law, Cliff Jordan, East Moline; uncle, Don (Genny) Jenkins, Keokuk, IA; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren with one great grandson on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Lou Land; sister, Linda Jordan; and brother, Richie Land.
