Roger Leroy Newlon

Roger Leroy Newlon, 71, passed away at his home in Moline on Friday, May 31, 2019.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (1506 Brown Str.), Bettendorf.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  A private burial of cremains will be held later at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Memorials may be made to the Gift of Life Transplant House (705 2nd Street SW; Rochester, MN  55902).

Roger was born on August 19, 1947, in Geneseo.  He was the son of Roy Newlon and Evelyn (Hulslander) Newlon.  Roger married the love of his life, Karen Rossmiller, on April 12, 2019, in Davenport.  Together they loved country music and country dancing.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, golf, playing cards at the river and spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Karen (Rossmiller) Newlon; two daughters, Beth (Duke) Young and Jessica (Brandon) Logue; grandchildren, Belle, Callie and Jaxson Logue; sister, Cheryl (Bob) Jackson, and numerous loving extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Evelyn.
