Rogers Terry, age 78, of Rock Island, died Friday, March 20, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Milan Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Rogers was born October 26, 1930 in Brinkley, AR, the son of Grant Terry and Dora (Johnson) Manley. He married Juanita Smith on February 13, 1959 in Rock Island.
Rogers was an US army veteran. He was employed as a blocker and bracer supervisor for the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1987. After retirement, he was a bus driver for Johannes Bus Service. Rogers was a member of the Milan Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved fishing, watching western movies, and doing yard work. Rogers especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
