Ronald L. Gardner

July 18, 1929 — March 24, 2011

Ronald L. Gardner, 81 formerly of East Moline passed away March 24, 2011 at Manor Care at Utica Ridge, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29th at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd.,
6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island.
Ronald was born on July 18, 1929 in Monmouth, IL the son of Jack and Beatrice McWilliams Gardner.
Ronald was a proud graduate of Monmouth College. He retired from Deere and Company in July 1989 after 35 years of service and was last employed as an executive supervisor. Ronald was also a decorated Veteran. At age 16, he enrolled in the Army and served during World War II. In addition, he served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was also in the Marine Reserves. He loved sports, especially the White Sox and Packers. He also enjoyed jazz music and played the clarinet and the saxophone.

Sisters: Wilma Jean Pulley
Rosalie Gardner
Numerous other great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Fietta Gardner, granddaughter Nicollette Mayes, grandson Victor Allen, sister Lois Martin and twin brother Donald.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manor Care at Utica Ridge, Genesis Medical Center Surgical Specialty Unit and the Quad City Kidney Center - Silvis and Davenport Locust locations for their excellent care and dedication.
