Ronald "Ron" Granger, age 71 of Moline went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2007 after a long, courageous battle with extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a masonic service at 7:00 p.m. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island or the American Cancer Society.
Ron was born May 19, 1935 in Moline, the son of Roy and Ethel ( Sprunk) Granger. He married Sandra Miller on January 31, 1963 at Edgewood Baptist Church.
Ron was employed by Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, WA. after being discharged from the service. He was then employed as a police officer in the Moline Police Department from 1958-1985 , retiring at the rank of lieutenant in 1985 after 27 years. He was an army veteran of the Korean War. Ron was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. He was also a member of the Moline Masonic Lodge # 1014 A.F. & A.M., Moline Consistary Scottish Rite & Coordinates Bodies, former member of Crimestoppers Board, and first vice-president for the State of Illinois AFSCME Council 44.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Chad Wolfe & nephew Kevin Stein.
