Ronald E. McCoy, 65, of Rock Island, IL, died of a heart attack at 6:25 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at UnityPoint Health, Trinity - Rock Island.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to his family. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ron was born on May 4, 1948, in Moline, IL, the son of Helen Esther Woods McCoy. He served in the United States Marine Corps. and worked as an over the road truck driver. Ron enjoyed local politics and history of the Quad Cities and Denver, CO. He lived with the H.I.V. virus for over 25 years.
