Ronald "Ron" Lee Pratt

Ronald “Ron” Lee Pratt, 73, of Taylor Ridge, IL, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2016, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Andalusia Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to National Spinal Cord Injury Association or to the BSA Illowa Council.

Ron was born on April 13, 1943, in Sioux City, IA, the son of Wyndom and Charlotte VannOrsdell Pratt.  He married Brenda Pate on August 7, 1972, in Donaldsonville, GA.  He worked as a mechanical engineer for John Deere from 1963 until he retired on March 1, 2001.

Ron graduated from Iowa State in 1966.  He enjoyed cooking, BBQ, and smoking ribs.  He loved to be outdoors gardening, cutting down trees, and tending to his property.  Ron was very intelligent and always looked for a better way of doing things.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Brenda Pratt; daughter, Patricia (Gary) Reinheimer; son, Kennith Pratt; grandchildren, Quinton Lee (Brittany) Taylor, Keith W. Taylor, Marcy Taylor, Nicholas Reinheimer, and Spencer Reinheimer; great grandchildren, Ethan Neece and Connor Farris; siblings, Marie (Tony) Kochenash, Beverly (Steve) Fry, and Carol (Larry) Baye; nephew, Jeff Fry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
