Rosalie Elaine Danielson, 96, of Silvis, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 5:00 a.m. after an extended illness at Aspen Rehab and Health Center.
Graveside services are Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home after visitation has ended. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Rosalie was born April 27, 1913 at home in Coal Valley, IL, the daughter of Harold and Alta Poston. She married Harley Maynard Danielson on November 19, 1949. He preceded her in death December 6, 2000.
Rosalie was a homemaker and was dedicated to taking care of her family. She had a kind heart and cared about others less fortunate. Every year she would adopt a family at Christmas and made sure that they had wonderful holiday. Rosalie also loved animals and volunteered her time at Animal Aid until her health no longer allowed.
Survivors include daughters Rhonda Starofsky and Cindy Humphrey; son-in-law Bill Humphrey; grandchildren Richard Humphrey, William Humphrey, and Holly Humphrey; great granddaughters Rebekah and Loralei Humphrey; sister-in-law Myrtle Danielson; and many nieces and nephews.
