Roy Milton Hall, 69, of Moline, died December 11, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park.
Roy was born June 23, 1939 in Tazewell Co., Virginia to Othor and June Lyons Hall. He married Carole Weaver on July 12, 1975 in Moline.
Roy retired October 1, 1980 from the United States Army after serving 21 years. He had been stationed in Alaska, Korea, Vietnam, Germany and Rock Island Arsenal. From 1980-1995 he was employed at Rock Island Arsenal/Tank Automotive Command as an equipment specialist retiring again July 25, 1995.
Roy was a member of the Moline American Legion Post # 246 and the Moline VFW Post # 2153. He enjoyed working in his yard and in his home. He had a great love for golf, being with his friends at the donut shop and his dog Katee.
Roy's family meant the world to him and he will be remembered for going above and beyond for them. Everyone loved his "Virginia sayings." His keen sense of humor was only outshined by his love for his family.
